Welcome to the yarn capital of the world: Copenhagen
Copenhagen is the city in the world with the most yarn shops per capita, and in Copenhagen you'll see people of all ages knitting everywhere, in the parks, on buses and trains, and in cafés. So you should never feel embarrassed about sitting and knitting in public. It's completely normal.
Our guide will lead you quickly and easily to the most popular yarn shops in Copenhagen. And with the guide, you can enjoy discounts and gifts in several of the shops, and it might even pay for itself.
This crawl takes you to 11 yarn shops as well as several handpicked shops and cafés, so-called "hidden gems" in Copenhagen. You can of course choose to spread the crawl over several days, but it can be done in a single day if you spend no more than 20 minutes in each shop and are comfortable walking. We've made sure to keep walking to a minimum, as most shops are close to a metro station, and all the stations are on the same metro line, the Metro Circle Line M3, which is the red line.
Throughout the guide we share our best tips for what else you can see, experience and eat in the area. We believe that as knitters we share a common love of the aesthetic, the creative and the unique, and those are the kinds of places we share with you as hidden gems. These are places you wouldn't even think to google, for example a shop that sells everything in zips, buttons and ribbons, or a wonderful French-inspired bistro where you can eat for half the price of anywhere else in Copenhagen, if you'd rather spend your money on yarn. And it's right next to one of your stops.
What's included?
- A complete online map and guide to all 11 shops, plus information about other lovely yarn shops not yet part of the crawl.
- A printed map, goodie bag and Crawl Badge (available for collection at Woolstock), giving you 10% discount in several of the shops, plus an extra goodie bag in one of them. Combined value: 258 kr. plus the value of discounts and other treats.
